Living in a Biosphere
Original Air Date: October 18, 2006
We all share the same air, water and food sources. The Earth that sustains our very lives is a critical factor in determining the health
issues of the 21st century. Dr. Oz is joined by Christine Todd Whitman, former Environmental Protection Agency chief and former New Jersey
governor, for a discussion on how we can make changes in our own backyard to improve our quality of life.
Whitman says that one of the most important things we can do as consumers is look for the Energy Star® label when purchasing products
ranging from new appliances to a new home. Items that have earned the government's Energy Star label use less energy than standard products
and perform just as well. Plus, energy-efficient choices save families money and help the environment by reducing the energy demand.
