Gary Discusses How to
Create Authentic Power
Temptation is the gracious way of introducing
each soul to his or her power. With each choice
that you make to align yourself with the energy
of your soul instead of surrendering to the temptation,
you empower yourself. This is how authentic power
is acquired. It is built up, step by step, choice
by choice. It cannot be meditated or prayed into
being. It must be earned.

Oprah: I love that you say that. You can't
meditate or pray it into being or wanted or wish
for it or say, 'Yeah, that's what I want. I want
to, like, live for my inner self. I want to be more
internally authentically powered.' You can't pray
it up. You have to live it every day.
Gary: Exactly. It's the same as watching
a magnificent basketball player and saying, 'I want
to do that,' and then you don't do anything else.
You have to work, whether it's to play golf, to
be a good mother. No matter what it is in life,
you have to practice it and learn what you're doing;
practice again, practice and practice, learn what
you're doing wrong, become more aware of what you're
doing wrong so you can do it right. That's creating
something you didn't have before.
To create authentic power, I'm talking about making
decisions consciously in your life to create harmony
and cooperation and sharing and reverence for life.
And when you do this, you create a life of joy,
spontaneity and appropriateness. Now this is how
you create authentic power. You must make those
choices.
