Why did it take so long for you to write a sequel?
Dear Ken Follett,
Why did you wait so long to write a sequel?
— Beth J.
Dear Beth,
I was very nervous. I didn't want to write something for a quick buck. The greatest asset I have is a host of readers who like all my books and are looking forward to the next one. It would be foolish of me to disappoint them. So I thought long and hard before embarking on the sequel. But I'm glad I was so cautious, because in the end people liked
World Without End as much as
The Pillars of the Earth.
