Q: I have experienced bleeding from my teeth, mostly while I am sleeping. My teeth are loose and my gums are swollen. What should I do?

A: Flossing regularly will initially increase bleeding, but, over time, it will do something more important: It will heal the gingivitis that's causing you to bleed like a hockey player on the wrong end of a puck. Nighttime bleeding also indicates that you're probably grinding your teeth like an out-of-control food processor. So act like a boxer or football player and use a mouth guard like the Doctors Nightguard, which can eliminate the blood-producing effects of nighttime grinding.
