Q: On The Oprah Show you discussed the importance of bowel movements. One a day or every other day is good. I fluctuate anywhere from one to three a day. I eat healthy, moderately exercise and weight train. So what's up with all the waste movement?

A: Though your movements may be unpredictable, your digestive tract is delivering even faster than FedEx. And that's good. As long as you're going that frequently, it's likely that your bowel-movement patterns are simply an individual variation (or possibly a sign that you're not getting enough calcium in your diet). Like hugs, dollar bills, and tickets to the Final Four, it's better to have too many than too few.
