According to psychiatrist Dr. Gail Saltz, author of Anatomy of a Secret Life: Are the People in Your Life Hiding Something You Should Know, major depression and dysthymia affect twice as many women as men. If you or someone you know has two or more of the following symptoms, it's a good idea to talk with a professional. If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts, please consult a professional as soon as possible.
